钱作怪

Chinese has a saying : 有錢能使鬼推磨 (Transliteration (pinyin): Yǒu qián néng shǐ guǐ tuī mó.)

Literally: If you have money you can make the devil push your grind stone.
Note: English equivalent: Money talks. Money makes the world go round.
When you work for a company, the boss is good, the job is ok, they pay you enough.
When the company makes $, employees play a part too.
$ should be (if can) shared upon all.

Do not give your employee hope, and then suddenly say you are not sharing the $ or profit the company has.

Unhappy Employee, means unhappy Work.

You pay peanuts, you get Monkeys.

Happened to bump into a song by Ricky Hui, many many years back...
Listening to it, it is very true.

Money is power

Why in Black and White ?

On Friday night, when i reached home after work, i saw this envelop on my table.

"Must be bills, to be paid, again..." i thought to myself.

Truly, it is my mobile bills, from Singtel.

And this month, they printed it in Black and White. (instead of the full coloured ones like previously.)

I think they also trying to save Kaya  Gaia, and print in Black and White.
Or they ran out of colour inks.

Did you receive your bills from Singtel in Black and White, this month, like me too ??

Garden by The Bay

A few friends and i decided to join in the group of people with huge curiosity on what is Garden By The Bay.
We visited it.

Knowing it cost quite a bomb to build, and sure that it will be overcrowded,  i was still quite excited to find out how nice the place was...

When  i reached, the very first thing i saw, is this...

I heard that it will be lighted up, at a certain timing during evening time. Did not stay to watch it.. =x

Scenery around, was quite nice... Although it was drizzling on Sat, it was still quite crowded...

A simple summary of some of the interesting flowers i saw, along the way...

We only ventured the "Free" zone of the place.
Most of the areas of the garden are free, but to visit the two conservatories and the OCBC Skyway, individuals would have to pay SGD 28 to visit two conservatories, and SGD 5 for the Skyway. Children pay SGD 12 and SGD 3, respectively.

Some more interesting things......

And i realized i was standing on top of the water area....

My personally favourite photo i took. =)

I was also trying to see if there was any stray dog, who would attack my friends or even me.. but they did not appear...

My summary of the place : -
  • Personally i don't feel its worth it to pay, to get into the air conditioned area.
  • It is over crowded.
  • The is only one water cooler area, which is near the toilet of the Garden Admission ticketing area.. (Nicely planned out?
Let's see how long the flowers, can last..... and the place to be invaded by "our foreign friends" ..

Short trip away at sea..

Hi All, How was your weekends? =)

Mine was filled with fun, and alot of food. Ex colleagues and i went on a short cruise on Star Cruise, Super Star Virgo.

It was my first time on a cruise, therefore, there was much to look forward to. If you have been on a cruise, and from what i heard from friends, and my parents, there is never ending of eating.
And it was true.
There was like never ending flow of buffet while on the cruise. (HAHA!)

I was helping out in the checking in process, as it was a big group.

I even went back to my kids time !
I can still sit inside, hor ! =P

Since we only got a night to spent, we really eat, and played till very late (3am), making full use of the time.
It was a relaxing trip, and its back to work again tomorrow.

See you soon, weekends!

Where is the Singapore i used to see ?

The most recent talk in Singapore.

‘Ah Lian’ vs auntie clash in MRT quarrel.

The 'Ah Lian' give up the seat, the Auntie keep nagging.

Someone posted on Facebook.
I name this the KNN Uncle.
After that i realized this video might be of long time ago.

Sometimes, we give up seat, we hold the lift door, or the door for people. The person receiving it, does not say Thank You, or smile back. It becomes a situation that i must do that task for you.

Was it due to the education... we forgot our very basic morale education ?

Hit the top prize

It was a busy and stressful work week.

I was dragging myself to work, on a hot Friday morning.

I bumped into my neighbour (staying opposite me.), and we chatted a bit, before wishing a Good Day at work, to each other.

As usual, as normal, as per scheduled, i took the same route, to work.

This time, it was different.

While walking out of the void deck, someone threw a plastic pail down.
It landed about 5 steps away from me.

I shouted "wah" , ran out, and stood there looking up the block. I dont know who did it.

It became the first tweet of the day on my Twitter.

If i wasn't chatting with my neighbour, the pail would have hit my head.
Although it was a rather small pail, the impact would still be there.

And some news article about killer litters.
