Mizuno Wave Run - 10.10.10

What a special date for today!
If you din realize, today is 10 Oct 2010, and in numerical, it is: 10.10.10 ! =)

And today is also the Mizuno Wave Run, a 10km run.
Today's run had a mixture of those sandy areas, and pavement areas. Personally, i was walking a little too much today, and i guess my timing would be very bad for this run. (oops!!)

After about 3km distance mark, my right knee area started to feel pain, and i had to walk, plus jog a little.. but still i finished the whole run, which is what i am aiming.

*pat pat ownself* =)

A picture to show you today's crowd..

My tag number and the singlet given..

Another Finisher Medal for collection. =)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My Singapore friends, did you happened to read the Today's newspaper last Friday, and so happened to see a PSB Academy graduands list?

Anyway, did you see a famailar name..? (Hint.. Hint..)
Come, i help you........

It's my name!!! Haha...
So proud of myself. =P

And now, its for a new chapter of my life.
A new direction, and hopefully everything flows smoothly..

Cousin Wedding - 2 Oct 2010

Attended my cousin, Li Yun's wedding dinner with mum last night.

We were born about the same time.. and mum often brings me over to her place. In my memory, I can still remember the days when we were still in our cloth diapers, playing with each other, snatching each other toys.. the loser cries(of course!) Haha!!

And in the blink of an eye, twenty years down the road, last night i see her getting married!

The stage..

The table settings..

The lovely couple.. <3

The traditional 'Yum Seng' from all of us..

It was also a type of family gathering for the older generation (mum and uncles).
Therefore i was not spared the toasting with the relatives (luckily i got some trainings), so did not get drunk. Wee Wee.. LoL

However, how good i hide, or cover my face with the table cloth, i was still being bombarded with the "when is your turn?" by many of them..

-___-||

But anyway, i am very happy to see her finding her man, and getting married!
It was a great gathering! =)

My first time..

Everyone have a first time...

Why this picture?

This is the picture i took, in my sunglasses (and with my contact lens!) Haha...
My first time wearing contact lens, after so many years, when all my friends around have actually been doing it for so long...

What kept me so long from wearing contact lens?

FEAR.

Fear of the contact lens, missing..
Fear of the contact lens, dropping out when im outside...
Fear of seeing my finger near my own eyes!

My friends help me to overcome it.
The whole lot of them, with a mirror, and my trial contact lens, guided and watched me put on the contact lens for the first time. LoL

It's actually not that scary!!!

When you are more 'skillful' with it, its quite fast, actually.

For those first timers, i got links for you to read, and this helps me too.
See --> HERE
Some videos --> HERE

Cheers~! =)

The Mid-Autumn Festival, 中秋节

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! =)

Source
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Zhongqiu Festival (traditional Chinese: 中秋節; simplified Chinese: 中秋节; falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar.

With source from Wiki, it is also a night when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. So did you managed to see the moon tonight? =)

Wiki also listed some additional cultural or regional customs things we should do during this day....
  • Carrying brightly lit lanterns, lighting lanterns on towers, floating sky lanterns
  • Burning incense in reverence to deities including Chang'e (Chinese: 嫦娥; pinyin: Cháng'é)
  • Planting Mid-Autumn trees
  • Collecting dandelion leaves and distributing them evenly among family members
  • Fire Dragon Dances
  • Putting pomelo rinds on one's head
  • In Taiwan, since the 1980s, barbecuing meat outdoors has become a widespread way to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Hmmm.. looking at this list, those that i done before are: carrying of lanterns, eating of mooncakes, and hoping to see 嫦娥.. Hehe!! =P

Last year, i was with my friend, Tian Fa and his friends, carrying lanterns at Ang Mo Kio park, and eating mooncakes. Few years back, we still meet up to play candles, chit chat...
I guess everyone's busy this time around.. and my dinner appointment was being cancelled last minute too.. so its a stay home mooncake festival for me. =)

So how's your mooncake festival? did you see the moon??
What ever it is, this song is for all of my dear friends! =)

Heard the new SMRT jingle?

Hello all, have you heard the new SMRT "train is coming" jingle lately?
In case you dont know what i talking about, you can watch the below video..

I took the MRT last night, and it was my first time hearing it.
"Very cute!" i find it...
However, this thought slowly faded away.. why? You must be asking me..

I first heard it at the Bukit Batok station which is nearest to my house, (also the time where i find it cute.) and then i travel to Jurong East station, i heard it the second time.
As i need to travel to Orchard area, i had to change to another line at Raffles City station, i heard it the third time.

Hearing it 3 times in a trip, does not make the song that cute anymore.. =(

Then i start to think....

If there is a chinese version, will it be like...
火车来了〜
火车来了〜
火车来了〜
请开始排队...
爱你的旅程。

And if there's a hokkien version...
her cia lai liao ~~~
her cia lai liao ~~~
her cia lai liao ~~~
kin bai dui..

HAHA!!
Maybe its me, but as i keep hearing the same jingle, it kinda irritate me...
How about you? =)

Life Is Fragile . . .

I came across this article on the newspaper, few days ago..

Ex-lawyer dies in Perth crash
Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_576167.html

She was just weeks shy of qualifying as vet when car accident happened.

A SINGAPOREAN lawyer who gave up her career to pursue a veterinary degree in Australia was killed in a car crash in Perth last Friday, just short of her graduation.
Ms Celina Chua, 30, would have been able to fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a vet in just five weeks, after completing her second degree in veterinary medicine at Murdoch University.
But her life was cut short when the car she was driving careened off a three-lane highway and crashed headlong into an oncoming vehicle.
Western Australian police said she was behind the wheel when she lost control of her Hyundai Excel. She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Her mother and a younger sister were also injured in the accident and were admitted to the Royal Perth Hospital. Another younger sister, who was also in the car, sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the other car suffered punctured lungs, multiple fractures and cuts, and was also taken to hospital. Police are still investigating the accident.
Media reports on the accident said Ms Chua's family members were in Perth for a short visit when it happened.

I'm very sad to read this article, as it brought back memories of my good friend, and his girlfriend, who also left this world in a car accident, in year 2008. (Link to 2008 article)

He was only 25.

I can still recall me calling his mobile, 2 weeks before this happened, to ask him out for coffee session. "I will call you back?" His answer to me.

The call never came.

It took me some time to overcome this period of losing him.
Two years passed, so fast..

Look at how fragile life is?

For the many friends who are facing problems, crisis, and challenges, this is for you!

Say Hello to...

Say Hello to who?
You might be wondering.....

Here's the story..

I met Miss Fujitsu, during my diploma course period. She was being dumped by the previous ''boyfriend'' (and was being sold to me at an low price, after like 2 years usage, due to the owner buying a latest model.)

With the most basic usage of doing projects, and able to surf the internet, it was good enough for me.

However, recently Miss Fujitsu, had been naughty and not been working well with me lately.. with mood swings (regular hanging of screen), anyway its an at least 6 years ago model (I only got 60GB disk drive. =x)

Therefore, with the Comex show at Suntec City, (and to make myself happier..) i dumped her, teaches my mum how to operate and play some simple games with it. Yeah~

Now i am dating with Miss Lenovo! =)

Say Hello to Miss Lenovo! =)

The Battle of month end closing.

This is the 2nd month-end closing of the accounts.
As usual, its a war in the office.. Lucky thing, i got my sword on the right hand and my shield on the left, all ready for battle !

A few nights, we had to work till after 9pm, or even 10pm, each day was fully packed with never-ending things, from 8:30am till 9pm. While we are doing task A, task B, C, D, E, F, comes rushing us. And in between all these tasks, we are needed to learn new things.
The whole team is Physically and Mentally stressed out.

As such pressure build up, people tend to be more short-tempered, (i admit i am one of them too) and quarrels start from such situations too.

Many times, i really feel like giving up, and tender my registration (Yup) but i overcame it. However i am not sure how long this can last, as i always drag myself to work nowadays..

So as a reminder to myself and all my friends, do keep cool.
Work is never ending, work to your very best and dont give yourself too much pressure!

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place... and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it.

You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That´s how winning is done.

Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody.
Cowards do that and that ain´t you! You´re better than that!" (Rocky Balboa)

Try playing this in your head, always.

Complains of work aside, let's see what Hong Wei been doing this weekend ? =)

While shopping, i found something i like!

A new watch!
Nice, isn't it? =)
Bought it to reward myself for the hard work.

Sunday was mostly of resting and clearing up of things.
I cleaned up my hamster's cage, and it is now enjoying its clean cage. =)

There it is, climbing up the side of the cage just now. Hehe!

I cleaned up part of my room too, at least now it looked a bit neater, as compared to before.
I sorted out the textbooks and notes i had while i was taking my Diploma papers, packed them nicely into a plastic box. Haha!

I also sleep quite alot, i sleep will 1pm today, and also took an hour nap after i done the cleaning up.
I am so sleepy, even now while im writing this post, shall turn in early today, in prepare for the upcoming busy week...

Will it be me ?

Hello all friends!

Few days back, Hong Wei was being invited to take part in an event called: Tiger Beer Regional Online Influencer Challenge !

As far as i known, i had always been having my eyes sticking on the tv screen whenever a soccer match is being played.. discussing over lunchtime with colleagues of how the previous Barclays Premier League matches went... and of course, the recent World Cup! =)

While typing this entry, i suddenly recalled, one birthday present my friend bought me, many many years back.

A Man-United jersey, Hor~ HAHA!!

Forgot to mention the prize for the challenge.
A chance to go to Manchester and meet up with Wayne Rooney! He's also the brand ambassador for Tiger Beer!!

If my dear friends, do you feel that I should be the one to win the chance to go to Manchester and meet up with the man himself (or even scratch his backside?)

If the answer is "Yes!", please kindly drop a comment with:
- Your REAL NAME:
- Your URLs to your social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.

So easy! =)

Thank you all for reading, good luck to me!! =)
